WSUS 3.0 SP2
After being offline for a month or so, today my server told me that it was ready to upgrade from WSUS 3.0 SP1 to WSUS 3.0 SP2.
Unfortunatley the update failed, getting lines similar to this in the log files:
2009-09-13 13:39:18 Failure Reading the registry: Software\Microsoft\ASP.NET\1.1.4322.0/DllFullPath: Reading the registry: failed with HRESULT 80070002: 'The system cannot find the file specified. '
The solution was to uninstall "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 -- Device Update 2.0" and then the install went successfully.
Unfortunately, it lost the database of computers and updates, so had to rebuild / redownload that, even though it said that it "rolled back" to the previous install.. that it had deleted and not put back 8-)... still shouldn't take too long on 50Mbps fibre ^.^
